First things first: Thanks to everyone who commented last week--the lucky giveaway winners are (drum roll…..):
- Ygrey Auer
- Lashae Karsin
- Nicandra Laval
Congratulations ladies! Watch for your gift in-world! And for everyone else, keep on reading because I had so much fun with this I have decided to make it a weekly color-challenge event!
Now, however, we move on to Iron. There were so many ideas that came to mind--Iron Man, ironing, wrought iron, Iron Maiden (yikes!)…why don’t we just stop there! What stuck in my head most though was a song I sang in college, and it is pretty appropriate for the kind of weather we are having lately in my neck of the woods:
In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.
-Christina Rosetti, Gustav Holst
So what did I do? I grabbed my friend Caroline and we took to the snow, I in my ultra-chic jacket from Sascha Frangili and Caroline in a beautiful jewelry set from Endra Graves and one of this week’s color challenge offerings from Rezzie Luckstone:
So now for the giveaway…it will be the same as last week, you’ll have until Friday, January 27th at 11pm SLT to make a comment on this post. Winners will receive the Maggie Set from Artistry by E, beautifully modeled by Caroline. This week I will randomly draw two names from the list of comments. Now, I am not going to do jewelry every time, there will be other items in the future as well (guys, I am keeping you in mind!), but the talented Endra Graves has generously agreed to be my giver this week.
And even though we are past the Christmas season, if you are feeling like reliving the season a bit, here are two versions of “In The Bleak Midwinter”, the first by the great Annie Lennox and the second more traditional version from the Gloucester Cathedral Choir:
